The Carb Clinic concept was born in 2000 on the XJ Owner's Discussion List. Long before youtube revolutionized
mechanical instruction, people were having trouble understanding how to adjust their carburettors, or just didn't have
the specialized tools required. So Dwayne Verhey proposed that he would bring the tools if someone would host
a gathering. Ross and Alice Presta offered their home and the Southern Ontario Carb Clinic was born.

One evening was not enough. Two more Carb Clinics were held that summer, one in Mississauga and another in
Waterdown, both on Saturday afternoons which provided more time for travel. All 3 were a great success, with those
who were in range bragging about how great their bikes ran now, and how much they had learned.

Sadly, not all were in range. "There's not enough time to get there!" the people cried. And Dwayne listened. With
room for plenty of tents, extra beds inside and a wealth of motels and hotels in the area, the 3-day NOCC format
has enabled riders from distant shores (sometimes literally: riders have come from both the Atlantic ocean and the
Gulf of Mexico!) to attend.

Those riders have spread the word. Carb Clinics have been held all across North America. Even some other groups
have started their own versions (eg: XS owners). But the grandaddy of them all, an annual event since 2001, is the
NOCC.
